About BMM Network

Since 1999, George O Janssen, a trailblazer in the black music scene, has conducted research on the development and empowerment of black music culture. Filling a void in archiving and accessibility in this field, the BMM Network (Black Music Management Network) has been established in collaboration with Joey Flu.

Launched in 2023, the BMM Network is a groundbreaking organization focused on uniting professionals within the black music culture. This organization aims to share experiences, advocate for the interests of its members, and organize networking events and training sessions. The network provides a platform for discussion and change, even at the political level.

With an international focus, including collaborations with American partners in the music and entertainment industry, the BMM Network seeks global knowledge transfer. The organization plans to align itself with established entities in the Netherlands such as Buma, SENA, ADE,MMF NL and Eurosonic Noorderslag to collectively wield a stronger voice in the music industry.

Members contribute with an annual fee of 200 euro’s for the first year and after that 100 euro’s annually, enabling the BMM Network to function as a representative of black music culture from the Netherlands. The organization is currently focusing on attracting international members to strengthen its network, with several applications already received from abroad.

The goal is to officially and legally establish the organization by 2024, with a focus on acquiring and demonstrating ownership within the Dutch black music culture. BMM Network is dedicated to the personal and organizational development of its members through networking events and training.
